It never fails; if something breaks it will be when the store is closed or you have company. Or you will have a flat tire when
your mechanic Daddy is out of town.
Yes, we woke up and were setting out to complete some of our usual errands when I noticed the van looked lopsided. It did not take long to find out why. Since we homeschool I decided to make the best of
the moment and make it a teaching lesson.
First we had to figure out how to get the spare tire out. This was probably the hardest part. Well, the jack would have been if we had been stranded on the road somewhere - but since we were home we used Daddy's nice jack and that was a breeze.

Sadly, the tire could not be repaired. Honestly, we knew it was about time to buy a new set but it is just not a good time. Is there ever a good time for repairs? Oh well, the boys did learn something and I think there was a little more testosterone flowing than normal. Also, I have a new and safe set of tires to drive on.
Wow! I am so very impressed that you did that yourself!! I'd be on the phone with Triple A. "I have a flat tire, and my husband is out of town. Can you help?" "Did you say a flat tire? Can't you do that yourself?"
ReplyDeleteWow. That's a lot of work. Flat tires can be a menace sometimes...
