I know that I have been AWOL for a while. There has been quite a bit going on. First we went on vacation. I know, my husband lost his job and yet we went on vacation, crazy. Well, it was already paid for and we visited his family as well - so we went.
We came back to reality. There has not been much on the job market, actually that might be overstating it. As I mentioned, I have increased my hours. One of my biggest issues is that I am a control freak. This is very hard for me, not being able to control the current situation. I need prayer to handle this better. We are mulling over a few options, just trying to wait on the word of which way to go.
As for school. I am going to have to disappoint my fellow MFW kinsmen (women). I have always struggled to stay caught up in the past. Now with my increased hours and helping my husband in his job search I am worried about falling behind again. After much thought and prayer, we have decided to enroll the boys in GVA. For those of you not familiar with it; this is basically like a charter school. It is legally considered public school, they however do it at home. They will be assigned a teacher for progress reports and assistance as needed. I will still be the main guidance at home, but I feel better having someone else there.
I have visited a friends house that uses this program and have to admit that I was impressed. That being said, we do have the option to withdraw if we see that it just does not work for us.
As you can see, there has been a lot of mental things going on recently. I pray that I am moving in the right direction and not just re-acting to life. I will continue to blog here about school and life, just not MFW I guess.
That's all for now...
You do what you have to do and what is right for your family!! I bet doing GVA will make it much easier for you--cheaper too since they provide everything! I looked at this once too.
ReplyDeleteWill you still do co-op?
Yes, we will still do co-op. You are right about the price, we are already paying for it with our taxes. I am hoping this will make it easier for hubby to help with school too. :-)
ReplyDeleteI admit to being a little nervous about it. Mostly the placement part, which is a large reason for trying it...I realize that we are behind in some areas (can you come tutor English...jk) :-)
