Now that it has been a week or so since my meltdown, I have been able to view the experience with some perspective. Time is always good for that I suppose. I am now thinking maybe all of that was part of God's plan.
Since before school started this year we have been back and forth about when and if we will send the boys to public school. This experience combined with several new friendships with ps kids has made me happy to be home. Getting back into our routine has been like putting that comfortable sweater on, it just fits right and I think we all seem to realize that.
That being said, I am looking ahead in our MFW curriculum. We had started Rome last year with another curriculum and I think I am now ready to move on. So, I am skimming to see if there is anything we have not covered for Rome and then we are onto the Middle Ages.
I have promised the boys that we would incorporate an art project in at least once a week. I am writing this down to hold myself accountable. (insert grimacing face). Therefore being the good mom that I try to be, I have researched and found an art project to complete Rome - well two actually. One, the tile mosaic that we never did, and the other is hopefully going to be a clay head...something like a statue, we'll see. Luckily we are coming into the holiday season in which there are always an abundance of artsy ideas. How I will be able to incorporate them into our curriculum is another story.
On the home front; I guess you could say that we are getting into a new routine. Daddy is helping with the school schedule, football practices, cooking, cleaning, and trying to complete some of those unfinished home repair projects. Of course, scouring the internet daily for a possibility of getting out of the house and away from his chores. I do think he has a better appreciation for how much I do.
I need to go thru my pictures; I only have a few hundred new ones. It seems easier for me to take them than to sort them. We will soon be on fall break for co-op. Maybe that will allow some extra time. Yeah, right!
Oh, you might have noticed this blog looks different...again. I am trying to find something I like. I may have to get creative and create something, until then the wardrobe might continue to change. :-)
Happy Monday!
I'm glad you're finding a comfy fit in your daily life! I sure know what you mean about art projects and having to be accountable to someone in order to make yourself do them!
